Sony HDR TG5V

Sony’s HDR-TG5V High Definition Handycam Camcorder is a pocket-sized powerhouse where true 1920 x 1080i video meets a rugged, yet sleek, lightweight titanium body. Features include a 2.7″ LCD with a touch panel screen for intuitive menu navigation and a 1/5″ CMOS sensor for capturing brilliant 2.3MP video and 4MP stills.

The professional Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar lens features 10x optical zoom and SteadyShot image stabilization. Face Detection automatically adjusts exposure and focus on up to 8 faces. Smile Shutter technology ensures smiles on stills. The camera has Dolby(R) Digital stereo recording, and includes HDMI (TM) and USB 2.0 interfaces.

While the HDR-TG5V records to Memory Stick PRO Duo media just like its predecessor, the HDR-TG1, this camcorder also provides the added flexibility of recording to its 16GB built-in flash memory.

The TG5V also adds Geotagging, a built-in GPS receiver that allows for tagging shots for storage and easy retrieval from the camera’s Map Index.
